Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Integration

Earlier this week, Ford made a major update to the Super Duty platform, incorporating a new infotainment system called SYNC 4 and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration on selected models. The system also features voice control, as well as a host of other driver assistance technologies.

SYNC 4 is an integrated, cutting-edge system that includes a 12-inch touchscreen display, an in-vehicle GPS receiver, and voice operation. It also supports third-party apps, such as mapping services, food ordering apps, and navigation apps. SYNC is available on the F-150, Mustang Mach-E, and Bronco, among other vehicles.

Android Auto is a platform for the Android smartphone, enabling access to popular native and third-party apps for navigation, music, sports, and shopping. In addition to native apps, the platform features over-the-air updates for popular third-party apps. It can also support EV charging, and integrates parking and navigation apps.

In the past, automakers struggled to integrate in-car touchscreens with smartphones. The result was glitchy, and the knob-and-display interfaces were hard to understand. However, with the release of iOS 9, car companies were finally given the opportunity to develop their own apps for the system. In 2018, Google added Google Assistant to Android Auto.

Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration on the 2022 Ford Super Duty is available on certain trim levels. The base model features an 8-inch touchscreen, while the Lariat, XLT, and Raptor trims feature a 12-inch display.

Exterior colors

Fortunately, Ford Super Duty enthusiasts are no longer limited to the traditional colors of yesteryear. During the past five model years, fans have been treated to an array of colors from the likes of blue and green to the black and yellow, and a whole lot more. The latest color offerings will make you stand out in the crowd, whether you're on the job site or the highway.

The Ford XLT is the only trim level to sport a pearlescent pearlescent paint scheme, and is available in a choice of seven paint colors. There are also a selection of two-toned exterior packages to choose from. The best way to decide which colors are right for you is to visit your local dealer.

A new color is also introduced for the 2021 model year. The Black Appearance Package is not available for purchase until the fall of the year, but you'll be glad to know that it comes with body-colored front and rear bumpers and 20-inch Ebony Black painted premium wheels. The same is true of the upscaled Lariat Sport Appearance Package, which features a chrome exhaust tip, black platform running boards, and a full suite of interior options.

The Ford Super Duty boasts a robust lineup of high-tech safety and convenience features, as well as a well-earned crown for the best towing capabilities of any truck in its class. You'll find a full range of features, including adaptive cruise control, rear park assist, and a host of other driver assistance systems that will keep you and your passengers safe, healthy, and happy.
